Questions about selling your music online
How do I sell my music online?
There are two ways to make money from your music online: sell it directly to fans, and distribute it to streaming platforms. On EngineEars you do both from one account. Open a free storefront, upload your release and set a price, then share your store link. When you’re ready, distribute the same release to Spotify, Apple Music and 350+ platforms.
Where can I sell music online?
You can sell it from your own storefront on EngineEars at EngineEars.com/yourname, or on your own domain, like yourname.com. Link it from your bio, posts and messages. Streaming platforms pay per stream instead of per sale, so most artists use both.
How do I make money selling music online?
Selling direct pays far more per fan than streaming. 100 fans buying a $10 album is $1,000, which would take roughly 256,000 Spotify streams. Sell to your most loyal fans first, then release to streaming to reach everyone else.
Do I have to distribute to streaming to sell on EngineEars?
No. You can open a storefront and sell direct to fans on the free Artist Essentials plan. Distribution to streaming platforms is part of Artist Platinum, whenever you’re ready.
Can I split earnings with my collaborators?
Yes. Add your producers, writers, featured artists and engineers to the release and set each person’s percentage. The shares cover direct sales and streaming, are paid automatically to each collaborator’s own dashboard, and must add up to 100%. Collaborators don’t need a subscription to withdraw their earnings, and EngineEars doesn’t take a cut of their split.
How can fans pay?
Fans can check out with a credit or debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Cash App Pay, Klarna or Affirm. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.
